2026 federal holidays at a glance
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) sets 11 federal holidays a year. In 2026, one of them falls on a weekend and shifts under the standard observance rule (5 U.S.C. 6103): Independence Day lands on a Saturday, so federal employees observe it the preceding Friday, July 3. Every date below is computed by the same rule-based logic that draws the calendar grid above, not a hand-typed list, so it stays correct without maintenance.
